I have lived in north Leitrim since 1998, practising my art, studying and undertaking commissions. Each collection represents a few years' work, as I also work locally full time.
I am a member of the Solas Art Gallery in Ballinamore and the Leitrim Sculpture Centre in Manorhamilton, where I use the Print Studio.
My current paintings and sculptures, entitled "URBAN JUMBLE" have evolved from visits to Glasgow and London, and my fascination with the urban landscape - the play of light between the old and the new buildings, the jumble and mix of shapes and patterns, colours and textures. My paintings and sculptures are not representing the actual buildings, but the essence of them. Roofscapes and Cityscapes are transmuted into abstract forms. Layers of paint, with scratched and worn texture, all those gorgeous colours - brushed, squeezed and scumbled.
The sculptural pieces are reminiscent of the toy building -blocks of childhood. They have a tactile, playful quality and are "paintings in sculptural form."

I had two solo exhibitions in 2011. Firstly at the Abbey Arts Centre in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal, in June, and then at Solas Art Gallery in Ballinamore in November. As part of the Solas exhibition, I had two Saturday drop-in art sessions, where visitors had a chance to play with some of my abstract sculpture. These were a great success and lots of fun.
I have also been selected for of group shows at Solas Art Galley, Ballinamore, The Dock at Carrick on Shannon and the Leitrim Sculpture Centre in Manorhamilton, as well as for art events at Boyle and Drumshanbo.
