Peadar Mc Namara taught Art/Craft and Design to second level and adult students at Ennis Community College for 33 years. He studied at Limerick School of Art, and did further studies in London at the Northern Polytechnic Print Dept., Sir John Cass College and the City Literary Institute. He worked in London as a teacher and commercial artist.
He was a member of the Junior Cert. Art / Craft / Design Committee of the N.C.C.A. and Co. Clare Adult Education Committee. He was active in trade union, political, local history and folk singing circles.
He has exhibited in London, Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Ennis. His works have found homes in Ireland, U.K., Norway, Germany, U.S.A., Canada and Australia. In recent years he has concentrated on sculpting, his preferred medium being clay.
