 Making Muffins
In a return to his figurative children paintings, Rowland’s renewed passion has been accredited to his grandchildren. Rowland Davidson was born in Belfast in 1942. He studied Fine Art at Belfast College of Art, and had among his tutors John Luke and Tom Carr. Rowland is known as one of Ireland's best-known figurative painters, his work is always characterised by skilled draughtsmanship, warmth and softness of brushstroke with a sensitive interpretation of subject, and depth of contrast.
