 Fergal Freeman (Mac an tSaoir)was born in Dublin,Ireland, in 1966.
In 1992 he moved to Toronto,Canada. Then in 1998 he moved to Venezuela, South America and it was here that the artistic inspiration began.His Mother in Law, Gladys Chaparro Gutierrez, a well known professional porcelain artist, encouraged him to put paint to canvas. As a result, his early work is Latin inspiried plus the inspiration from his Latin wife, Ana Cecilia Chaparro Gutierrez de Freeman, is also evident.
When he returned to Canada in 2000 he began experimenting with painting knives. He discovered a better sense of freedom using knives than brushes and as as result his technique became rough with a visual passion that is evident with his portrait of W.B.Yeats and Back Of Naked Woman.
Today Fergal continues on his artistic journey discovering himself through his art.
